Dr. Jasper Vikas

In 2005, Dr. Vikas earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. He was awarded a Ph.D. in “Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Legislative and Judicial Trends” by Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in 2011. Additionally, he holds a diploma in Cyber Laws.


Before joining National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) in December 2013, Dr. Vikas taught various subjects, including Taxation Laws, Criminal Laws, Torts, Intellectual Property Laws, and Clinical Legal Education at Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.


In addition to his teaching and organizational roles, Dr Vikas is the Research Director of the Centre for Tax Laws at NLU Delhi. His teaching portfolio at NLU Delhi includes LL.B. and LL.M courses. He teaches- Human Rights, CPC and Limitation Act, Taxation Laws, Pleading and Conveyancing along with specialized seminar courses such as International Taxation, Indirect Taxation, Sustainable Development, and Real Estate. At masters level (LL.M) Dr. Jasper Vikas teaches international Taxation, Advanced Constitutional Law and Constitutional Theory.


His academic journey does not stop here. He has authored numerous research papers that  are published in prestigious national and international journals. Dr. Jasper Vikas has made a significant contribution to the jurisprudence of insolvency and bankruptcy code through his research papers. His research papers focus on a diverse array of issues which include the status of government dues and taxes under insolvency law, the rights of erstwhile management in Resolution plans., concerns of home buyers, the role of personal guarantors etc. He has also analysed the landmark case laws like Ramakrishna Forgings Ltd., and Tata Steel BSL Ltd. and their impact on the insolvency jurisprudence in India. Through these research papers, Dr. Vikas has played a significant role in shaping the contemporary insolvency jurisprudence in India.


Dr. Jasper Vikas has also conducted significant research in the field of consumer law. His work on “Consumer Behaviour Vis-à-vis Digital Piracy and Copyright Infringement” provides valuable insights into the patterns of consumers engaged in these activities. Additionally, his work on  “Consumers’ Adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in the Hospitality and Tourism Sector” offers a thorough understanding of consumer behaviour. These contributions highlight his expertise in analyzing and addressing critical issues in consumer law and technology.


Dr. Jasper Vikas’s extensive experience in both practice and academia, along with his contributions to legal research and education, make him a distinguished figure in the field of law.
